A research team led by Drs. Kuehn and Kwon designed a new formulation of the standard timolol glaucoma medicine that successfully lowered eye pressure for up to 90 days in animal studies. The team engineered a long-lasting form of timolol that is injected underneath the outer covering of the eye (the conjunctiva) where it has pressure-lowering effects for months.
